In-person meetings are powerful.

Here are 5 reasons why:

The Value of in-person meetings

1) Bonding is an essential part of any relationship. It’s one of the most important ways we connect with others and builds trust; it allows us to share our thoughts, ideas, and opinions in a way that can’t be replicated via technology. (email, text, video).

2) Learning is also a key part of building relationships and developing trust. In-person meetings allow us to gather information from each other in a more efficient way than wouldn’t be possible via technology alone.

3) Helping people is another important factor in creating relationships and building trust. In-person meetings allow for more direct communication about what is needed from each party involved in the relationship; this includes both giving help as well as receiving it.

4) Miscommunication is reduced due to reading body language and facial expressions in person, which are both crucial for communication. You can’t interpret the same from text, email, or most video calls.

5) Remembering details are enhanced in person because of your brain’s ability to process information from multiple sensory inputs (sight, smell, sound).

It takes more time to dress up and go meet with someone… but it’s worth it.

The more face-to-face you can have, the better.
